What Is Gun Butt Kills In Modern Warfare & Warzone?

Melee Kills Using Guns

Gunbutt kills refers to melee kills made with a gun. As the motion of such kills are a swing with the gun, using it's buttstock as a hammer hence the name. It can be performed with all guns, including pistols.

Essential To Unlock CR-56 & Some Camo

In order to unlock the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle if you've missed it in the last season pass, you'll need to get 3 Gunbutt kills while using an Assault Rifle in 10 different matches. Gunbutt kills is needed in some Camo challenge as well.

How To get Gunbutt Kills

Get Up Close, Press Melee While Holding Gun

To get Gunbutt kills, you must get within melee distance of an enemy while holding a gun and press the 'melee' command. Make sure you have the command key set to somewhere easy to access!

Usually Requires 2 Hits To Kill

In vanilla multiplayer modes, it take 2 hits to kill an enemy with Gunbutt attacks. Make sure to attack consecutively or the target might escape your melee range and blast your face with lead.

As mobility is key for your gunbutt melee strikes, we chose Double Time so you can sprint longer and get oout of sprint faster so you can get the jump on enemies easier.

Avoid Detection & Maintain Stealth With Ghost + Tracker

As you're limited to melee attacks, staying off the radar can be crucial to your success. Use ghost to hide from UAVS while Tracker not only lets you see footprints, but hide the skulls of kills as well so you can bash in faces without being detected.
